On the final day, our way led us back north to the great Lago Maggiore, which was awaiting us with a pleasant climate and an astonishing scenery. Again, an exciting event was waiting for the Torpedo Runners at the end of a spectacular country road with innumerable corners though an extensively hilly landscape heading to the Mediterranean Sea.

At the „Pista del Mare“, one of the best gokart tracks in Italy, the Torpedo Runners were fighting their opponents and the time clock with just a few inches over the tarmac ground. The more than 1 kilometer long race track offered everything: high performance gokarts, narrow corners and long straights for high speeds. Even Formula One driver Robert Kubica comes to this track on occasions.

In the evening, the group arrived at Lago Maggiore, where the Grand Final oft he Torpedo Run was celebrated at a luxury hotel, which is located in the middle of a park right next to the lake. The diversity of roads and landscapes as well as chosen events are playing a major role in the Torpedo Run. The participants agreed with each other: the Torpedo Run was once again a pleasure without remorse. The atmosphere among the entrants was perfect and everybody was enthusiastic about his experiences.

The „Spirit Award“ for the 2009 Torpedo Run went to the lone driver Aron B. from Hungary, who legally modified his Dodge Grand Caravan to a fully equipped ambulance. He caused smiling faces everywhere, as was always wearing his paramedic uniform.

The Torpedo Run proved again to be an exciting but legal event for real car enthusiasts. There will be new highlights and other thrilling events, which make every Torpedo Run to a unique experience.
